José holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), a Specialization in Mexican IP Law, a Master in Jurisdictional Law from the Universidad Panamericana, and an LL.M. from the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC), as part of the Max-Planck Institute, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the George Washington University and the University of Augsburg.
José has more than 12 years of experience in litigation in the fields of domestic and international trademark registrations, pharmaceutical and mechanical patents, competition law, arbitration, transactional contracts, jurisdictional law, geographical indications, tax and custom matters, regulatory law, consumer rights. José has also advised the Senate commissions with regards to amendments of Mexico Administrative law.

With the mentioned knowledge and his studies in the IP and Competition law of the European Union and the US, his legal advices structures and implements dynamic and commercial global strategies for the foreign and national clients.
José likewise holds certifications of Amparo Law, Environmental Law and Tax Law from the Mexican Bar Association, and he is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and an active participant in the International Anticounterfeit Coalition (IACC), the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), the Mexican Intellectual Property Association (AMMPPI) and has been invited as an observer to the European Patent Litigators Association (EPLIT).
